Gracism

I know nothing about it - so I'm not promoting it - but the marketing preview for this book piqued my interest... Click to see it >>> Gracism

I like the concept and the idea. Everyone deserves special grace and it is God who gives grace to all and it is our job to pass that grace on to others. I have been dealing with the topic of grace through the statement "love wins". I got the phrase from Rob Bell. He preached a sermon with the same title that stressed the idea that when Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave he changed the way the world works. No longer does law or hate or sin rule the world now the new rule of love dominates. However sin has clothed each person in such a way that love has been distorted and our natural response to others is not love. Instead a new reaction must begin to develop that reaction is love or grace and this is a supernatural response brought about by a supernatural incident that changed the world and eternity.

I know this is long and most of it is my processing the sermon from Rob but it is a constant thought now in the life of me and my wife.

Yes, and our fallen-ness still causes us to sometimes embrace worldly views of folks not like us. But, when I saw 1 Cor. 12:23 quoted as a reference to the 'Gracism' book. I was challenged to think how we - in Arlington - could possibly show special honor to folks who are not 'like us'. ...That would be a real demonstration of how 'love wins'!
